Senior Years Program

  • Age 14-17 | Gr-9 to Gr-12
Senior Years Programme

TCIS lays great importance for Senior Years. During the Senior Years (Age 14-17 | Gr-9 to Gr-12), the Middle Year learnings are further extended and scholastic specialisation is introduced. Leadership skills are promoted. Children are empowered to do innovation, research and aptitude discovery.

Career Orientation

The overarching theme of Senior Years is Career Orientation. In order to have a focused approach towards academic excellence and to ingrain mindfulness in the learner about one’s talent, interest and aptitude so as to orient them towards meaningful career opportunities, TCIS has taken remarkable initiatives during the Senior Years, under its Wings Program, when the child grows her wings and we teach her how to fly.

The Wings @ TCIS

The Wings @ TCIS is a targeted academic training program for the Senior Years students with career orientation as the base theme. One of the key learning objectives of TCIS Wings is competitive exam preparedness for various higher education institutions in India and Abroad. There are a host of meaningful initiatives undertaken including Integrated Coaching, University Connect, Entrepreneurship Programs and many more. We even have a full-fledged oversees admissions desk at TCIS. This is an important learning phase when the students are made future-ready for their next phase, be it university research or professional education or entrepreneurship.

Academic Accomplishments

The prowess of TCIS’s unique approach is evident in its students’ accomplishments. In addition to consistently achieving 100% pass rates, an impressive 85% of students secure distinctions in the Grade 10 and Grade 12 Board exams each year. Furthermore, every TCIS student successfully gains admission to their chosen path after the school, whether in professional fields, research, or entrepreneurship. Notably, 30% of its graduates gain admission to prestigious institutions across the country each year, including IITs, NITs, NIDs, and IISERs, while another 20% secure places at top universities abroad, serving as a testament to the effectiveness of TCIS's academic strategy.

Primary Years Program

  • Age 8-10 | Gr-3 to Gr-5
Inquiry-led Framework

Preparatory Years (Age 8-10 | Gr-3 to Gr-5) is built on the foundations of early years and follows an inquiry-led framework which challenges learners to critically think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore and understand concepts across language, science and social subjects in real life context.

Competency Based Learning

The curriculum is oriented towards Concept Building. The pedagogy combines best research and practice from a range of educational systems to create a relevant and engaging learning path. At this stage classroom transactions shift towards competency-based learning and the assessment tools focus on assessment “as”, “of”, and “for” learning to align with the learning outcomes, capabilities and dispositions as specified for each subject. Classroom coaching is reinforced at this stage through full-fledged hands-on learning through experiential research.

Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes of the program is to attain proficiency in foundational concepts of language, science and social subjects through transdisciplinary knowledge, critical thinking and application.

Middle Years Program

  • Age 11-13 | Gr-6 to Gr-8
Multidisciplinary Concept Integration

Middle Years (Age 11-13 | Gr-6 to Gr-8) comprises three years of education, building on the knowledge, skills and attitude developed by students during their preparatory years to prepare them for the Senior Years. The curriculum focus is Multidisciplinary Concept Integration. Learning and discussion of more abstract concepts are introduced at this stage across the multiple disciplines of languages, sciences, mathematics, arts, social sciences, and humanities. Experiential learning within each subject and explorations of relations among different subjects are emphasised. Both width and depth of transdisciplinary learning is achieved during these years.

Challenging Intellectual Curiosity

The curriculum is designed inclusive for students of all interests and academic abilities so as to inspire passion for learning while challenging intellectual curiosity, encouraging inquiry and maximising individual potential. It provides real-world learning experience, connecting their studies to the world around them enabling them to develop sound judgments, make wise choices and respect the community they are part of.

Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes of the program is to attain proficiency in interdisciplinary concept integration between multiple disciplines and cross-disciplinary application.

Through our unique Edubrisk teaching-learning tool, we identify and bridge foundational gaps in students’ understanding, ensuring a solid conceptual base. Our dedicated team of teachers, counsellors, and learning specialists provide one-on-one guidance, small group instruction, and academic coaching as needed. Additionally, we offer targeted support for students preparing for competitive exams and integrated coaching for higher-grade students. Further need-based remedial classes and special classes are a norm at TCIS. Well-being Counselling

At TCIS, we prioritize the well-being of our students, recognizing that a healthy mind is the foundation for academic and personal success. Through individual counselling, group sessions, and workshops, our counsellors address a variety of topics, including stress management, social skills, emotional resilience, teenage challenges and positive self-image. We also integrate mindfulness practices and mental health awareness programs into our curriculum, equipping students with lifelong tools for emotional well-being. Our counsellors work closely with parents and teachers to ensure a holistic support system that helps each student thrive.

Foundational Years Program

  • Age 3 to 7 | Prep to Gr-2
Making Every Child a Curious Learner

Foundational Years (Age 3 to 7 | Prep to Gr-2) is the most crucial learning phase of an individual. About 90% of a child’s cumulative brain development occurs prior to the age of 8. TCIS’ Foundational Year program draws its strengths from International Baccalaureate (IB) methodology and follow a curated learning approach specifically designed for this age group.

Dynamic Learning

TCIS’ Foundational Year program is dynamic, based on the latest research and development in this highly evolving area, aimed at achieving optimum progress in physical and motor skill development, cognition and communication development, socio-emotional-ethical development and cultural-artistic development.

Teaching Methodology

Our teaching methodology at Foundational Year stage focuses on play-based, activity-based and inquiry-based learning to achieve higher order transdisciplinary outcomes in numeracy, literacy and life-skills. It involves tailor-made activities employing tools like games, indoor and outdoor plays, puzzles and logical thinking, crafts, visual arts, clay modelling, drama, puppetry, music, story, poetry, etc apart from highly interactive textbooks.

Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes of the program is to attain proficiency in foundational skills like language, maths, computing, listening-speaking-writing communication, cooperation and collaboration, teamwork, ethics, creativity, health, self-awareness, self-discipline, logical thinking, etc.
